Good read. His illustrations are beautiful and the story is original and heartwarming. My 8 year old (born, adopted in China) requested these after she borrowed them from a friend. Well written, absorbing, sensible and much needed. The Orphan Seal is a wonderful book that presents a true story full of scientific information in such a way that is neither condescending nor too intellectual. Their are many stories ranging for months, seasons, animals, it is packed full of science and nature topics. I love these books.
