Lynne Withey's books include Voyages of Discovery: Captain James Cook and the Exploration of the Pacific (1987) and Grand Tours and Cook's Tours: A History of Leisure Travel, 1750-1915 (1997). She has taught history at the University of Iowa, Boston University, and the University of California at Berkeley, and is now the associate director of the University of California Press. 9. Wow, how did we get to book six already? There are several things I like about this series:
1.The writing: I enjoy Grant's writing style. Because riots had broken out across america, Boston was supposedly spared because of this decision. For example, people residing in the Northeast are intimately familiar with hurricanes but have precious little knowledge of earthquakes, tornadoes, tsunamis or landslides. I loved all of the side stories we were treated to. This spray of armor was microscopic to several millimeters in diameter, and at high velocity, it injured the crew. And this should be one of your first to introduce you to the military endeavors of Byzantium and medieval Islam.
Highly recommended. In any event, it's so fun to page through (the cross references are excellent!) that it really doesn't matter if you know them or not. Saw some improvement, but not enough to get me back to work. I was used to the soils in California and
