Praise for Mary Rickert's books:
"The Memory Garden is a lovely book of women, friendship, sadness and healing, and it is genuinely uplifting. Like the garden of its title, this is a book to take in slowly, to spend time in, to wander through; you'll likely find your-selves the better for it." NPR
"This is a novel haunted by mortalitywith people who died young, with people now old and dying, with ghosts. But it is often a joyful novel, a novel of life, forgiveness and good meals with friends and strangers."Los Angeles Revie

The New Man shows Thomas Merton at the ripe of his spiritual powers and has as its theme the question of spiritual identity. The author has interviewed a series of successful people trying to find out common patterns of behaviour which can supposedly be ingredients of success. In the process, Kaufman tests his and his friends idealized and often romanticized notions of Nature against the realities of road building, flying squirrels, and devastating hurricanes. One thing that stimulated him to tackle and write THE PROBLEM WITH SOCIALISM Tom DiLorenzo says, was seeing an opinion poll which showed that 59 percent of Millennial Generation folks polled think it is OKAY, even a good idea to have a socialist as president.
We all should read this book. Interesting and some great facts.. I also wonder why the book lacked chapters on black male immigrant students and black males who are Muslim.
This is a nice book, generally. Even so, I don't feel it was worth my time.. Dis
