She challenges both the right's simplistic narrative that the market will save the poor - she demonstrates the reverse - and the left's romantic and idealized narratives about the "alternative development" paths for smallholder farmers. I feel like I know each of them and would recognize them if I saw them on the street. I stumbled on to the "Lucky" series via BookBub, and was hooked half way through the first paragraph. Thoroughly am enjoying this book. The Power Card story is fun to develop because the student's favorite TV personality, cartoon character or real life hero explains the importance of using the appropriate behavior and explains how to display this behavior by following the listed steps.
